Digitization as a factor of resilience against the pandemic

In the latest episode of the Centro Latam Digital podcast, CLD and CIDE researcher Jimena Moreno speaks with Dr. Raúl Katz, Director of Corporate Strategy Studies at the Institute for Tele-Information at Columbia University to reflect on the impact of the #COVID-19 pandemic and why connectivity is a decisive factor for facing social and economic challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The episode touches on some of the findings of the recent study “The state of digitization in Latin America facing the COVID-19 pandemic“. This study was carried out by Dr. Katz together with Juan Jung and Fernando Callorda, with support from the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF).

Dr. Katz highlights the importance of digitization as a mitigating factor for the disruption of the pandemic and the implications of the digital divide in education, labor and economic development in the region.
